The nation's leader made a trip to speak to defense personnel in the eastern front on Tuesday. Zelenskyy announced that he consulted warriors at the command post of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine Azov, which is conducting a defensive operation in the Dobropillya zone, a location approximately a short distance from Pokrovsk.

Intense Situation in Pokrovsk

Geospatial data from a Ukrainian project showed that invading troops had advanced deeper into Pokrovsk and nearby locations, though a large portion was not fully held by either side. The conditions are severe, with updates indicating that opposition troops were digging in and strengthening posts in various sectors.

Opposition armies are pushing forward in the Pokrovsk sector and are reportedly acting with growing ease within the city proper.

Research institutes observed that national troops had recaptured substantial territory of a Russian penetration in the Dobropillya direction, on the east side of the Pokrovsk campaign.

National Long-Range Assaults Within Russian Territory

Ukrainian long-range drones targeted a production facility approximately a considerable distance inside Russia at the city. City administration confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that caused its water treatment facility to partially collapse, adding that the cause of the explosion was unconfirmed. The national defense command stated there was significant destruction to the plant.

Ukraine's military reported hitting a Lukoil oil refinery at the city in the federal district to the east of the capital. The extent of the damage was being assessed. The local official verified an assault by multiple unmanned aircraft near the area.

Kremlin Defense Strategic Shifts

Russian military reservists will now have to protect fuel facilities against Ukrainian drone strikes after the president signed a law on Tuesday expanding their participation in the military campaign. The head of state also signed a law permitting draft enrollment all year round whereas before it happened only during restricted intervals in cooler seasons. Moscow legally bars conscripts from being sent to battle, but after their armed forces duty they become part of the backup units, exposing them to potential of being deployed to conflict.

Heavy military spending have also started to strain the Russian state budget, with Moscow raising taxes to cover increasing gaps.

Zelenskyy's Appeals for Allied Help

Zelenskyy urged the US to continue considering to supplying Kyiv with extended-distance arms. Speaking at an EU meeting from the Pokrovsk area, the Ukrainian president also requested more western sanctions on the federation – including on the energy and atomic industries – and said he desired European Union membership prior to the next decade.

Germany plans to raise its military aid to Ukraine by €3bn next year to about 11.5 billion euros, the finance ministry in the German government said on the start of the week. This comprises, among other things, heavy weapons, drones, protected carriers and the exchange of missile defense equipment.
